Traumatized Women

“Here is a truth you often don’t hear:

Traumatized women have the potential to become the most powerful people in this world.

The most ignorant members of society call this type of woman “damaged.” But she is the most powerful type of woman there is.

What they forget is that survivors have the most dangerous advantage of all: resilience.

When you try and you try but you can never bring a woman down, you’ll know there is no going back.

Don’t fool yourself. You could never defeat her. You never will.

This is the woman who will always rise from the dead; Lady Lazarus, after going through hell and back.

This is the woman who has burned her feet in the flames time and time again and always lives to tell another tale – even if she has to crawl back to life. . . .

When someone tells her, “You can’t do it,” she says, “Watch me.”

She is fiery light birthed out of wintery darkness. Brought into the underworld by Hades, Persephone brings forth spring and rebirth when she reemerges finally from the cold.

She owns her shadows and seamlessly weaves them into the fabric of her freedom, creativity, imagination and independence. . . .

She lived all of her nightmares in high definition. She was given every reason to give up, handed every justification to never believe in herself or anyone.

But there is raw magic in the ways in which she cultivates a faith in herself, to manifest the dreams her soul was meant to bring forth.

Despite it all, she still conquers.

She still survives and thrives.

The “damaged” woman is capable of immense manifestation not just in spite of, but because of the traumas she has gone through.

There is no one more motivated than a woman who has constantly been told what she cannot do or who she cannot be throughout her lifetime.

There is no one more determined to succeed than someone who has nothing left to lose.

The “damaged” woman doesn’t sign up for the hardships of her journey – but she plays the hell out of the cards she’s been dealt.

The “damaged” woman is not damaged at all – she is wounded, and in channeling and healing her wounds, she becomes the source of incredible energy, the site of unbelievable potential for abundance and change.

She possesses the power to use her wounds for the greater good and her highest good.

She builds her own success and becomes her own rugged hero; tends to her own scraped knees.

She uses every stone thrown at her to build the foundation for her empire.

Brick by brick she builds – and despite every attempt to tear her walls down, she rescues herself again and again.

Despite it all, this type of survivor may still face hatred, envy, greed from those around her. . . .

As a result, she becomes the survivor of countless witch hunts, the target of many persecutors. Yet when they try to burn her at the stake, she does what comes naturally: she resurrects herself. . . .

Now when she creates, she creates new worlds and transforms and manifests on a level that cannot be recreated by someone who never had to struggle to survive.

When you hear the voice of a powerful survivor and the will of a warrior – there is nothing you can do but to stop and listen.

She is the voice of a million lifetimes lived.

She is the voice of the hopeless and the powerless when the fire is brought back to their eyes. She is the harbinger of the justice that the voiceless have longed to hear and feel and touch.

Regardless of how much you try and how it may seem, you can never truly bring a survivor like this to her knees; she already knows the value her scars bring.

She knows how to fill the cracks between her wounds with gold.

She knows how to transform each bitter word cast upon her into an iron-clad will that will set her and other caged birds free.

You can’t ever defeat a “damaged” woman, because she knows exactly how to save herself.”

Birthing

The human body can only handle 45 units of pain, but at the time of childbirth, a woman has up to 57 units of pain, which comes down to breaking 20 bones at a time.

Never tell a woman she can’t do it!

Remember that only she could dance with two hearts and breathe with four lungs.

Only she could carry the weight of two worlds in her belly and let life be born in her.

Don’t tell her she can’t, she can do anything! 💫💛

Nellie Bly- Journalist undercover in an insane asylum

The trailblazing American journalist Nellie Bly began her record-breaking 72-day journey around the world on this day in 1889 — a trip which made her the first person to ever complete the fictional journey depicted in Jules Verne’s “Around the World in Eighty Days”! A minimalist traveler, the 24-year-old Pittsburgh native brought with her only the dress she was wearing, a sturdy overcoat, a wool cap, a few changes of underwear, and a small handbag with her toiletries and writing supplies. She started the 24,899-mile journey from a port near New York City and traveled by steamship to England. From there, she traveled by train across Europe and Asia, by ocean liner across the Pacific Ocean, and by train from San Francisco back to New York. In total, her journey lasted 72 days, six hours, eleven minutes, and fourteen seconds, setting a new world record for fastest circumnavigation.

Bly, one of the earliest muckraking journalists, was also famous for her undercover investigative reports on corruption and social injustices. The year before her famous journey, Bly took an undercover assignment for the New York World where she feigned insanity to get herself committed to the New York City Lunatic Asylum on Blackwell’s Island. Her work pioneered the realm of undercover journalism after she wrote an exposé on the horrific conditions and mistreatment of patients she found there. Bly’s series of articles led to a grand jury investigation and, subsequently, to improved care for the patients and increased funding for the care of people with mental illness.

Burning Women

“These are burning times. And they call for Burning Women. Women embodied in their passion. Woman feeling in their bodies. Creative women..”

Burning Women arise.

Our time is now.

Our time has come.”

― Lucy H. Pearce, Burning Woman

I know that I know that I know that the times we are in are the fires, and that yes – we are rising. I know it subjectively – the last three years have been me sorting through the ashes, and for the first time in awhile, things have begun to clear. And I know it collectively – there is more purpose, less uncertainty.

More energy. More clarity.

And while our purpose and path are something inherent to each of us individually, there is also the collective nature of the purpose and path of all women: To rise.

I created this in part inspired by Lucy A. Pearce’s seminal work, “Burning Woman” because it gives me much strength when times are especially hard to discern. I have always wanted to create a feminine Phoenix because it perfectly embodies us as women at so many stages of life. Life transformations of deaths and births, of loss and discovery. The transition from girl to Maiden. From Maiden to Mother, from Mother to crone. Where the old is literally done away with, and a new and different thing comes into place. Where we are reduced to ash in those liminal times wondering what the hell is happening, and feeling absolutely bereft – but then the discovering. This is especially daunting at the last stage, and what nobody tells you is how the veils lift – but that is for another work.

This work is to serve as a tangible reminder of the magic within you – wherever you are in your own life. It is a placeholder of hope in the symbology of what it is to not just survive, but to be rebirthed anew.

To fully own and acknowledge the fire within you.

To remind you to embrace your own burning time.

To see with eyes beyond your human eyes

And to remember that yes, again, you will rise

Mothers worth $

New research has confirmed that being a mother is equivalent to working 98 hours a week 🤯

In a survey of 2000 mothers, researchers found that the average daily start time is at 6:25am and her end time is not until 8:31pm. That’s a 14 hour day plus weekends. 🥵

So next time you are tired or doubt yourself as a mother, just remember that you are a QUEEN 👑

Bob Marley on Women

Thoughts for today

Bob Marley was once asked if there was a perfect woman. He replies :

Who cares about perfection?

Even the moon is not perfect, it is full of craters.

The sea is incredibly beautiful, but salty and dark in the depths.

The sky is always infinite, but often cloudy.

So, everything that is beautiful isn’t perfect, it’s special.

Therefore, every woman can be special to someone.

Stop being “perfect”, but try to be free and live, doing what you love, not wanting to impress others!

Deep Soul Woman

My offer to you, Soul Deep Woman

Because I know the pain of struggling to stay true to who you are when doubt and feeling inauthentic keeps you small inside.

But that’s what happens when early on in life you were forced to live other people’s truth. You forgot who you are. You forgot what you came here to do.

We’ve accept the limitations, the social conditioning, the cultural dogmas imposed on us by the domineering patriarchy that replaced the temples of the Goddess all over the ancient world.

What labels were imposed on you?

What kind of names your feelings were given? Do they call you “the moody, the eccentric, the anxious, the manic woman?

Did the labels box you? Bind you? Contain you, control you and make you feel small?

Soul Deep Woman…

Take a moment and rest. You must be so tired. Tired of being told how to feel. Tired of not being seen and heard.

And frankly, you are tired of your own self-abandonment… That nagging voice, the self-doubt is just too much to bear, right?

You know that you want to live true to who you are… Live your truth and contribute with your gifts and talents to the ennobling of the humankind.

You want to feel in your heart of hearts the passion of standing in your power…

And the longer you wait to live true to who you are, the louder the inner critic becomes, reminding you that you are a fraud and an impostor…

Please, I beg you not to listen to this voice… It is just an old protective mechanism trying to keep you safe…

So, isn’t it is time to forget the rubbish you’ve been told?

If not now, then when? If not you, then who?

There is only YOU that has YOUR World View.

There is only YOU that experienced adversity the way you did.

There is only YOU that feels the Wound of the World with your heart.

That is only YOU that knows the journey from Wounding to Wisdom.

You have been on the Heroine’s Journey and your tribe is waiting to hear your Voice of Truth.

Step into your Power and let the world know what you are made of.

Let’s re-imagine your life and contribution not limited by Labels, diagnoses and name calling…

But by the wisdom you embody as a Soul Deep Woman…

A Rebel… A Nurturer… A Visionary… A Healer…

An Authentic… and Creative Soul Deep Woman…

A Seeker… Committed to Knowledge, Truth, Kindness and

Generosity of Spirit…

And so it is…

Now… and onward…
