Cherokee Women and Their Important Roles:

Women in the Cherokee society were equal to men. They could earn the title of War Women and sit in councils as equals. This privilege led an Irishman named Adair who traded with the Cherokee from 1736-1743 to accuse the Cherokee of having a “petticoat government”.

Clan kinship followed the mother’s side of the family. The children grew up in the mother’s house, and it was the duty of an uncle on the mother’s side to teach the boys how to hunt, fish, and perform certain tribal duties. The women owned the houses and their furnishings. Marriages were carefully negotiated, but if a woman decided to divorce her spouse, she simply placed his belongings outside the house. Cherokee women also worked hard. They cared for the children, cooked, tended the house, tanned skins, wove baskets, and cultivated the fields. Men helped with some household chores like sewing, but they spent most of their time hunting.

Cherokee girls learned by example how to be warriors and healers. They learned to weave baskets, tell stories, trade, and dance. They became mothers and wives, and learned their heritage. The Cherokee learned to adapt, and the women were the core of the Cherokee.

Lithium RX for Suicide not supported

A new meta-analysis of modern trials of lithium found no evidence that the drug prevents suicide or non-fatal suicidal behaviors. The study included 12 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing lithium to placebo or usual care for mood disorders encompassing 2578 participants. The researchers found that the difference between lithium and placebo for all suicide-related outcomes was not statistically significant.

The study was led by Joanna Moncrieff at University College London, who recently garnered media attention for a review that debunked the low serotonin (ā€œchemical imbalanceā€) theory of depression.

Reached for comment via email, Moncrieff said:

ā€œThe idea that lithium prevents suicide has added to its mystique and helped propagate the idea that lithium is a highly specific and effective treatment. But it never made any sense. Lithium is a highly toxic, sedative substance. It dulls emotions, which might reduce suicidal thoughts, but we know that many psychiatric drugs have this emotion-dulling effect and yet do not reduce suicidal behavior.ā€

Allergic to metals which Lithium Carbonate is ; yet it did not preclude the Dr of Psychiatry from prescribing it. Complaints from me about the raging diarrhea, lethargic 14 hour sleeping days , or kidney test constantly ( already had some kidney issues )

My complaints had him switch me to Escalith ; a coated version of Lithium ! I was too ill , aware Iā€™d been caught in a matrix of destruction.

It was the 1st RX I was prescribed for a misdiagnosis of Bipolar 1, which was trauma and domestic abuse .

13 years , I tapered off all medications in 2005/6.

Trashing Your Name

Itā€™s utterly stupefying when you discover someone you trusted and had a relationship with has waged a smear campaign against you.

While youā€™re talking about this person caringly or even just civilly behind their back, theyā€™re doing what they can in an attempt to discredit you and make you out to be untrustworthy.

I had this happen to me even recently, with someone I thought was a friendā€¦who Iā€™d opened my home to and introduced to my family. I even took her on vacation with me and my sons one year.

Then, inexplicably, she withdrew from me and stopped returning my calls and messages.

I later discovered sheā€™d told people things about me so that they wouldnā€™t trust me.

The old me would have obsessed about this and possibly begged this person to tell me what happened.

But the new me understands that these things can happen, even with people you believe you can trust.

Why she did this, Iā€™ll probably never know.

And the people she turned against me or, at the very least, planted a seed of distrust about meā€¦I had always felt fond of them, but we werenā€™t close friends. I cut ties with them, as well.

Iā€™d seen her take the scorched earth approach with other people, but I honestly never thought sheā€™d do it to me.

Until she did.

Moral of the story: Sometimes you donā€™t see these things comingā€¦but once you discover that someone is smearing your character behind your back, then thereā€™s only one thing to do and thatā€™s to move forward without them. This is one of those situations that you will no longer be able to feel safe about, even if you attempt to resurrect the relationship. Because, if they did it once, they will likely do it again.

No chasing. No begging. No multiple paragraphs or email tsunamis trying to make them understand. These things donā€™t work with people who are determined to MISUNDERSTAND you, even if what theyā€™ve told people about you is entirely untrue.

Antidepressants increase morbidity -mortality

I saw the results of long term use on the bodies of others in groups I tried .

An article recently published in BJ Psych Open investigates the adverse effects of SSRIs and other antidepressants when taken for longer than five years.

Narinder Bansal, Mohammad Hudda, Rupert A. Payne, Daniel J. Smith, David Kessler, and Nicola Wiles utilized over 200,000 individual medical records collected by UK Biobank between 2006 and 2010.

ā€œAntidepressants are one of the most widely prescribed drugs. Seventy million prescriptions were dispensed in 2018, amounting to nearly a doubling of prescriptions in a decade. This striking rise in prescribing is attributed to long-term treatment rather than an increased incidence of depression, and these trends are not limited to the UK,ā€ the authors write. ā€œHowever, little is known about the health consequences of long-term antidepressant treatment.ā€

Lithium 4 Suicide Prevention is not supported

Lithium is a metal , and I’m allergic to metals . This did not discourage the psychiatrist from prescribing it though .

I had to get blood work often because it can adversely affect the kidneys
