Family Photos Vital for Children Of Divorce

All pictures were placed with me , as the main photographer

99% were taken by me …

In 2005/6, after hearing much grief and emotional pain

as trauma was triggered with each of us 4, I had plenty

of pictures to share .

I sent many photos , and then I bagged 3 bags of family

photos , some I don’t have copies of unfortunately

and dropped them off at son’s house 2 blocks from

mine at the time ..

I was told that 1 son threw his in the trash .

Pictures showed up in wedding photos of bridal couples

childhood ..Weddings I was not allowed to attend

that it might be a reality that I was alive …

exposing the partner who could not stand my name

being mentioned , much less my physical presence.

Allowed actions of abuse , doing the nasty work

of a partner who utilizes others to do the deeds

out of love , protection, and fear …

Kramer vs Kramer at 40: a flawed film that remains a deserving classic | Film | The Guardian

To me this film depicted the harsh kick back from

the masculine energy of fear from women’s liberation

in bras and workplaces while holding their own

adverse childhood traumas , seldom voiced ..

It shows up in matters of power , money , and control.

Transforming this to Unity …Peace

Frontiers | Breaking the Cybernetic Code: Understanding and Treating the Human Metacognitive Control System to Enhance Mental Health | Psychology

The self-regulatory executive function (S-REF) model explains the role of strategic processes and metacognition in psychological disorder and was a major influence on the development of metacognitive therapy. The model identifies a universal style of perseverative negative processing termed the cognitive attentional syndrome (CAS), comprised of worry, rumination, and threat monitoring in the development of disorder. The CAS is linked to dysfunctional metacognitions that include beliefs and plans for regulating cognition. In this paper I extend the theoretical foundations necessary to support further research on mechanisms linking metacognition to cognitive regulation and effective treatment. I propose a metacognitive control system (MCS) of the S-REF that can be usefully distinguished from cognition and is comprised of multiple structures, information and processes. The MCS monitors and controls activity of the cognitive system and regulates the behaviour of neural networks whose activities bias the way cognition is experienced. Metacognitive information involved in the regulation of on-line processing includes metacognitive beliefs, metacognitive procedural commands, and more transient cybernetic code. Separation of the cognitive and metacognitive systems and modelling their relationship presents major implications concerning what should be done in therapy and how it should be done. The paper concludes with an in-depth consideration of methods that strengthen the psychological basis of psychotherapy and aid in understanding and applying metacognitive therapy in particular. Finally, limitations of the model and implications for future research on self-awareness, self-regulation and metacognition are discussed.

Authentic Single Parent Reality $$$

Okay, let’s set the scene. You’re a single parent with a child. You work full time for $14. You bring home roughly $800 per paycheck. Your bills: $1000 rent, $150 utilities, $250 car payment, $150 car insurance. So let’s do the math. You bring home about $1600 a month and your bills average about $1550, give or take. You’re making it, but barely. (This doesn’t even include groceries, internet, cable, cell phone, etc; nor does it include child tax credit or child support)
Now, it’s a really cold December and you get a power bill for $600. How do you pay that? To put it simply, you don’t. Because you can’t. So your power gets shut off. But you know what your lease says? It says you get evicted if your utilities are terminated. So now you’re in court, crying to a judge who doesn’t care, and you have 10 days to get out.
Well, you’re in luck! Because you found somewhere with 3 days to spare and it’s only $650 a month! But to get in, you have to pass a background & credit check. Which you can’t, because you just got evicted. You’ve never been a criminal, but even if you could pass it, you’re looking at $1300 to move in, after paying the deposit and first month’s rent.
Time’s up! Landlord shows up at 7am with the police and changed your locks. So now you’re living in your car with your 7 year old daughter and everything you need to get by. You tried to get a storage unit, but you don’t have a billing address so they won’t sell one to you, so you could only take what would fit in your backseat. You pay to shower at local truck stops and eat whatever can be cooked in a gas station microwave. Someone sees you and your daughter living like this and calls CPS; guess what happens next. They remove your child from your care. As if this isn’t devastating enough, you lose your job too, because “an employee losing their child reflects poorly on this company.”
So now, you apply for an apartment within the region, where the waiting list is 3-7 years. Then you go into WalMart to put in an application. When you get back to your car, you see that your back window has been smashed and someone helped themselves to your belongings. Remember that it is December, and really cold, and now you have damage to your only shelter. You call your car insurance, who says your deductible is $1,000 AND they’re going to increase your monthly rate since you’re now “high risk.” You call the homeless shelter as a last resort…..and all their beds are full.
I’ll stop here, because I think you get the point. The people we work with everyday are these people. WE ARE THESE PEOPLE. We are all so close to homelessness and don’t even realize it. All it takes is one unexpected bill, one fender bender, one lay-off, one house fire, etc.
Instead of talking negative about people who are poor or homeless or need assistance, why don’t you try being thankful that you’re not in their shoes… yet.
This is about staying humble and being kind. Be kind to your neighbor as you do not know what they are going through.

***My intense concerns for our family was so much stress, I’m

better off for the experiences of home ownership and renting

as a single woman ..homelessness has been a huge fear for

myself , and I’m very grateful to be ending this cycle ..

911 Tips Calling With An Abuser in the House /Dispatcher Advice

*TIPS FOR CALLING 911 WITH AN ABUSER HOME*
Hey everyone,
So I’ve been a 911 dispatcher for 5 years, and I’ve been on both sides of the 911 calls – as both a caller and a domestic violence victim. Here are a few tips for if you find yourself calling 911 and your abuser is there:
1- THERE IS NO SECRET PIZZA ORDERING CODE. HOWEVER, any trained dispatcher will ask you if you know you’ve called 911, and if you say you know and repeat yourself we will catch on. We then can tailor the questions however needed to get information we need and get help there quickly.
2- you can call 911 and not say anything if u need to. Most centers have to send someone every single time 911 is called even if it’s an accident. Also, I’ve had multiple victims call 911 while arguing and not say anything but we could hear the scuffle. We are trained to listen to background noise. I recently had a victim call with her phone in her lap and she said   “why would u choke me tho will?” And then he begged her not to tell anyone. With the line open, I traced the call and found it came to an apartment building. I started officers to that building and then cross referenced the phone number and the name will and found out what apartment they were in. He was arrested on multiple charges.
3- if your state has text to 911 – the mapping system is not that great yet. If you have to text 911 in the very first text tell us your address with apartment number and city, state along with your name and what you need. This could be as simple as “123 main st Southtown MI Juliet Bee domestic” that way if something happens between that first text and the second, we are at least on our way. We can figure the rest out when we get there but help is already on it’s way.
4- most dispatchers have a partner working with them. So just because you haven’t heard us send help yet, doesn’t mean they aren’t on their way. What happens is i take the call and as you’re giving me your address I’m typing it into the computer. Then you say it’s a domestic. So I type domestic and hit “save”. Then while I’m getting the back story and finding out if there’s any weapons or injuries, my coworker is sending out help to you.
5- if something happens and you can no longer talk – IF ITS SAFE TO DO SO – just put the phone down but don’t hang up. Like I said we are trained to listen to background noise. If u put the phone down and leave the line open and someone starts beating you up, we can relay that to the responders and they will speed up to get to you. But if you hang up we no longer have ears in the room. Also, all 911 calls are recorded and by law we are required to keep the recordings for a certain number of years. This means that if you’re bringing charges against someone and they are  beating you up on that open 911 line, that works in your favor for court.
Finally, I know calling is scary, and sometimes it seems like dispatchers don’t have sympathy or the officers on scene aren’t sympathetic. We are, and our hearts hurt for you. But we have to remain professional and objective to every situation. If you have any questions about 911, feel free to comment below and ask me. 🙂🙂
