Grown up love

Once you grow up, you realize you don’t want to be crazy in love.

You want to be calm in love,

stable in love, patient in love,

understood in love, safe in love.

Your partner should give you peace of mind and reassurance, not constant little heart attacks and high anxiety.

Narcissist & Parental Alienators : facts

Narcissistic alienating parents are characterised by a self-centred, manipulative, and exploitative nature. They prioritise their own needs, desires, and self-image above the well-being of others, including their children. Here are some key points:

Lack of empathy: Narcissistic individuals often struggle with empathy, which is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. They have difficulty recognising and validating the emotional experiences of their children or anyone else in their lives. Their focus is primarily on themselves and their own needs.

Manipulative and controlling behaviour: Narcissistic parents tend to manipulate and control those around them to maintain a sense of power and superiority. They may use tactics such as gaslighting, guilt-tripping, emotional manipulation, and coercive control to assert dominance and maintain control over their children.

Exploitation of relationships: They view relationships as opportunities for personal gain rather than genuine connections based on mutual care and support. They may exploit their partner’s and their children’s love and loyalty to serve their own agenda, using them as extensions of themselves rather than recognising their autonomy and individual needs. This also goes for other family members and work associates, in fact, anyone in their lives.

Lack of genuine love and care: Narcissistic individuals struggle to experience and express genuine love and care for others. Their primary focus is obtaining admiration, attention, and validation. As a result, their relationships, including those with their children, lack the depth, emotional connection, and authentic care that healthy relationships require.

Superficial charm and manipulation: They often appear charming, charismatic, and even loving in the early stages of a relationship. However, their behaviour tends to be manipulative, self-serving, and inconsistent over time. Their actions are primarily driven by a need for control, admiration, and validation rather than genuine care and concern.

They lose interest when someone no longer ‘serves’ them. When someone calls out their behaviour, they’ll go on the attack to protect their interests/lies. It’s important to recognise that not all alienating parents are narcissistic, and not all narcissistic parents engage in parental alienation. But when these two dynamics intersect, the results can harm and damage the child’s well-being and the parent-child relationship.

More important than beauty

“They keep saying that beautiful is something a girl needs to be.

But honestly? Forget that.

Don’t be beautiful.

Be angry, be intelligent, be witty, be klutzy, be interesting, be funny, be adventurous, be crazy, be talented – there are an eternity of other things to be other than beautiful.

And what is beautiful anyway but a set of letters strung together to make a word?

Be your own definition of amazing, always. That is so much more important than anything beautiful, ever.”

Neanderthal Husband gives advice

It is important for men to remember that, as women grow older, it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of housekeeping as when they were younger. When you notice this, try not to yell at them. Some are oversensitive, and there’s nothing worse than an oversen*sitive woman.

My name is Mike. Let me relate how I handled the situation with my wife. When I retired a few years ago, it became necessary for Pat to get a full-time job, along with her part-time job, both for extra income and for the health benefits that we needed. Shortly after she started working, I noticed she was beginning to show her age. I usually get home from the golf club about the same time she gets home from work.

Although she knows how hungry I am, she almost always says she has to rest for half an hour or so before she starts dinner. I don’t yell at her. Instead, I tell her to take her time and just wake me when she gets dinner on the table. I generally have lunch in the Men’s Grill at the club, so eating out is not reasonable. I’m ready for some home-cooked grub when I hit that door. She used to do the dishes as soon as we finished eating. But now it’s not unusual for them to sit on the table for several hours after dinner.

I do what I can by diplomatically reminding her several times each evening that they won’t clean themselves. I know she really appreciates this, as it does seem to motivate her to get them done before she goes to bed.

Another symptom of aging is complaining, I think. For example, she will say that it is difficult for her to find time to pay the monthly bills during her lunch hour. But, Boys, we take ’em for better or worse, so I just smile and offer encouragement. I tell her to stretch it out over two, or even three days. That way, she won’t have to rush so much. I also remind her that missing lunch completely now and then wouldn’t hurt her any (if you know what I mean). I like to think tact is one of my strong points.

When doing simple jobs, she seems to think she needs more rest periods. She had to take a break when she was only half-finished mowing the yard. I try not to make a scene. I’m a fair man. I tell her to fix herself a nice, big, cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade and just sit for a while. And, as long as she is making one for herself, she may as well make one for me, too.

I know that I probably look like a saint in the way I support my wife. I’m not saying that showing this much consideration is easy. Many men will find it difficult. Some will find it impossible! Nobody knows better than I do how frustrating women get as they get older. However, Guys, even if you just use a little more tact and less criticism of your aging wife because of this article, I will consider that writing it was well worthwhile. After all, we are put on this earth to help each other.

EDITOR’S NOTE:

Mike, died suddenly on July 23 of a perforated rectum. The police report says he was found with a Calloway extra-long 50-inch Big Bertha Driver II golf club jammed up his rear end, with barely 5 inches of grip showing, and a sledge hammer laying nearby. His wife was arrested and charged with murd*er. The all-woman jury took only 10 minutes to find her Not Guilty, accepting her defense that Mike, somehow without looking, accidentally sat down on his golf club. 🙃😛🤣🤣

Message to Men – Women are Tired

A Wake-Up Call to Men in Relationships!!!!

I don’t want to sound harsh, but this is a message we all need to hear: Our women are tired.

They’re emotionally drained, and many of us don’t even realize that we’re nearing the edge of losing the best thing that’s ever happened to us.

For far too long, they’ve been carrying the weight of emotional labor in our relationships, but that burden is becoming unbearable. The truth is, their patience, forgiveness, and willingness to endure aren’t inexhaustible resources. The well is running dry.

We assume that because they’ve always extended grace, always stood by us, that they always will. But let me make it clear: that’s not guaranteed. There’s a limit to how much one person can give when the other isn’t reciprocating or even acknowledging the imbalance.

This is not a threat, nor is it me pandering. This is a call to action.

We have two choices: level up or level off. If we don’t take this seriously, many of us will soon be facing the reality of a woman who’s reached her limit. The end of grace and mercy.

Take heed. Don’t wait until she’s gone to realize how deeply she’s been hurting, how much she’s been carrying, and how much she’s been hoping—hoping that you’d see her pain and decide to show up in the way she’s needed all along.

Don’t let this be you. Be proactive. Be present. Be committed to doing better. For her. For yourself. For the relationship you could have if you truly step into your role as her equal, her partner, and her emotional support.

We’ve been given countless chances to show up. Let’s not waste another one.

#PermissionToThinkDifferently

P.S. I’ve been accused of pandering to women, and I get it.

I certainly hope your pride won’t convince you that this another “pandering post by Burrus”.

Conscious Coupling -Uncoupling

To consciously uncouple, you must first commit to consciously coupling, diving deeper than the shallow waters most relationships wade in. People often fall into love rather than building it, like aimless drifters carried by the current of their unconscious patterns, drawn to others by unhealed wounds and unresolved triggers. They stumble into relationships with no map, no compass, led only by the echoes of old habits. But those who have truly mastered the art of love, those rare few who dance in relationship wisdom, have earned their grace. Through pain, reflection, and relentless self-examination, they’ve shaped themselves into sculptors of connection. They understand that love, like anything else of value in life—health, career, personal growth—requires devotion, a willingness to learn, and an acceptance that relationships are living, breathing entities needing constant care.

The foundation of conscious coupling begins with a mutual understanding that this relationship is a vessel for growth. It’s a sacred space where your individual and collective shadows can come to light, not to cast blame but to offer healing. When the discomfort surfaces, the ego flares up, and when we see parts of ourselves we’d rather hide or parts of the other that challenge us, we don’t retreat. We lean in together with the courage to face whatever is arising. We recognize that these very triggers are signposts on our journey to wholeness, invitations to strengthen our love and understanding of each other. We don’t run from them; we embrace them, knowing they are essential for our evolution.

To couple consciously means to open yourself entirely, with a vulnerability that feels like both a gift and a risk. From our innermost thoughts to the deepest corners of our bodies, we are all we are. We let the light in where the shadows lie. We dare to believe that we are worthy of the kind of love that sees all of us and still chooses to stay. We expose ourselves not only because we want to be seen but because in that seeing, we find the grace to let go of who we thought we had to be.

Physical intimacy becomes an integral language in this space, where words sometimes fail, but the body speaks in tongues, and the soul understands. When done with intention, making love becomes a ritual of connection, an alchemy that can dissolve the unspoken tensions and heal the wounds that mere conversation cannot touch. Sex, when infused with presence and passion, becomes both a release and a reaffirmation of your bond, a physical manifestation of the trust you build, moment by moment.

Honesty is the lifeblood of a conscious relationship. Radical truth-telling, even when it stings, even when it shakes the ground beneath your feet, is what sets you free. The practice of relentless honesty creates a space where no unspoken words linger like ghosts, haunting your connection. It requires courage to speak your heart openly and to listen without defense. In the presence of truth, you both become stronger, not because honesty is easy, but because it forges a relationship where transparency and trust are the norm, not the exception. Committing to this level of truth prevents your love from withering into complacency and ignites your intimacy like a flame that never dims.

This is where the magic lives—when two people commit to this sacred practice of conscious coupling. When they tend to their love like gardeners nurturing the most beautiful and delicate of flowers, watching it blossom into something extraordinary. This is the path to becoming more than human, to creating a relationship that transcends the mundane and enters the realm of the divine, the miraculous. In this conscious, wholehearted, unconditional love, it is here that we touch the very essence of what it means to be alive, truly, deeply connected, and witness each other in our most authentic form.

Tidiness

I totally agree. Living in a motel room going on my 3rd year , surgery etc has deterred me from accomplishing my room and bathroom .

After being robbed by cleaners who preformed a very well paid service , made me overly cautious about who is in my space .

Correctly I have help who is creating more open space as things I don’t need are stored as was the initial plan .

Dishes are a problem , they are rinsed and put in buckets to wash . So they are washed in the bath tub which is so low , I only take showers .

I’m 5’10 ” and sink and tub are designed for 5’ers ! My back is not strong for I sleep 😴 still in a medical bed ( very old ) on foam .

I was seeking help for my posture professionally , slept in a bed that I designed for excellent sleep and seeing a dentist for various dental issues made much worse by a highly toxic environment.

I do all I can, with what energy I have and I’m very Thankful 🙏 for the help I have .

I am giving things away ; though in the past I have given away things I needed to assure someone else has 💯🙌

So I’m more careful now and doing the very best that I can .

THE ENERGY OF A HOUSE

A messy messy house is not a happy place to live, it has negative energy and people who live there will be affected. Disorder gets in the way and stagnates, making it very difficult to continue on our ways.

The stress of searching for stuff causes anxiety, depression and confusion, hence the importance of throwing away or donating what we no longer need to give the house a new look. Your home is a reflection of your life, and that implies everything: physical, spiritual, emotional, labor, social and family.

Always remember that there is a place for everything and everything should be in its place, this helps to be in harmony and results in a better flow of energy. You must clean house and get rid of or reform everything that does not make us feel good, to make room for the new.

We shouldn’t accumulate things, but rather remove from home everything that doesn’t contribute, that doesn’t work or that you don’t like anymore. By getting rid of things that don’t contribute anything positive, the house loses negativity, makes space, and becomes much easier to clean, which is something important.

We should surround ourselves with things we enjoy, that bring good memories, that motivate us. Your home is you and your home is you. Our home is a reflection of ourselves, it tells us how we are at that moment, if we are stagnant, surrounded by so many things that contribute nothing and prevent us from seeing or having time for the most important, because you lose time looking stuff getting sorted or dusted

Let’s simplify our life and keep what’s really worthwhile. Lighting up your life makes you feel more free. Making decisions makes you feel more confident and responsible. Giving things makes you feel generous, and by organizing your space, you feel more organized and efficient.

It’s a way to free up space not only physical, but also mental, leaving room for new things to come in. That doesn’t mean throwing away things that remind us who we are, which is also important to have. Memories are the root of who we are, but what we accumulate that gives us nothing, must be removed from our home and our life.

Once you have purified everything you no longer need, you should follow the routine of order and cleaning to maintain a pleasant environment in our home, with habits like:

– Make your bed, the room will definitely look more tidy;

– Wash dishes whenever they arise, to prevent them from accumulating;

– Remove trash daily, to avoid bad smells;

– Put things in its place after use.

– Do daily routine cleaning.

A clean and organized environment conveys joy, peace and balance.
