Wisdoms from an elder

“I asked a friend who has crossed 70 & is heading towards 80 what sort of changes he is feeling in himself? He sent me the following:

  1. After loving my parents, my siblings, my spouse, my children and my friends, I have now started loving myself.
  2. I have realized that I am not “Atlas”. The world does not rest on my shoulders.
  3. I have stopped bargaining with vegetable & fruit vendors. A few pennies more is not going to break me, but it might help the poor fellow save for his daughter’s school fees.
  4. I leave my waitress a big tip. The extra money might bring a smile to her face. She is toiling much harder for a living than I am.
  5. I stopped telling the elderly that they’ve already told that story many times. The story makes them walk down memory lane & relive their past.
  6. I have learned not to correct people even when I know they are wrong. The onus of making everyone perfect is not on me. Peace is more precious than perfection.
  7. I give compliments freely & generously. Compliments are a mood enhancer not only for the recipient, but also for me. And a small tip for the recipient of a compliment, never, NEVER turn it down, just say “Thank You.”
  8. I have learned not to bother about a crease or a spot on my shirt. Personality speaks louder than appearances.
  9. I walk away from people who don’t value me. They might not know my worth, but I do.
  10. I remain cool when someone plays dirty to outrun me in the rat race. I am not a rat & neither am I in any race.
  11. I am learning not to be embarrassed by my emotions. It’s my emotions that make me human.
  12. I have learned that it’s better to drop the ego than to break a relationship. My ego will keep me aloof, whereas with relationships, I will never be alone.
  13. I have learned to live each day as if it’s the last. After all, it might be the last.
  14. I am doing what makes me happy. I am responsible for my happiness, and I owe it to myself. Happiness is a choice. You can be happy at any time, just choose to be!
Why do we have to wait to be 60 or 70 or 80, why can’t we practice this at any stage and age?”

Drained by a toxic family member- Sherrie Campbell Ph D

Tuesday Teachings

When someone is draining you dry emotionally, you find that all your thoughts are consumed by them. You fear them, you can’t ever predict them, and you find yourself doing things you would rather not do just to keep the peace.

It’s a hard reality to accept that certain people will never be satisfied with anyone, especially those they feel the closest to. The title “family” creates a space where abuses are justified and considered necessary; whereas, these same forms of treatment would be punishable outside of the title of family.

A toxic family member’s goal is to get in your head, make you question yourself, make you feel guilty when you have done nothing wrong, and to punish you for crimes you did not commit. They project all of their own foul behaviors onto you and label you the perpetrator.

The more you try and fight this craziness, they more drained you become. This is why it is always best to set boundaries and walk away from engaging in one non-productive fight after another.

Desire, Deserving Divinity – Being on your on , unless it fits

You deserve someone who can’t wait to talk to you, spend time with you, get to know you and fall in love with you.

Stop settling for half hearted, lukewarm, hesitant and indecisive people.

It’s so much better to be alone than to be with someone who makes you feel alone.

Years of Beauty- Archeology for the Woman’s Soul

How many years of beauty do I have left?
she asks me.
How many more do you want?
Here. Here is 34. Here is 50.

When you are 80 years old
and your beauty rises in ways
your cells cannot even imagine now
and your wild bones grow luminous and
ripe, having carried the weight
of a passionate life.

When your hair is aflame
with winter
and you have decades of
learning and leaving and loving
sewn into
the corners of your eyes
and your children come home
to find their own history
in your face.

When you know what it feels like to fail
ferociously
and have gained the
capacity
to rise and rise and rise again.

When you can make your tea
on a quiet and ridiculously lonely afternoon
and still have a song in your heart
Queen owl wings beating
beneath the cotton of your sweater.

Because your beauty began there
beneath the sweater and the skin,
remember?

I see you.
Your beauty is breathtaking.

Archaeology for the Woman’s Soul

Carla Jung – The Unconscious/ Facts

“But if we understand anything of the unconscious, we know that it cannot be swallowed. We also know that it is dangerous to suppress it, because the unconscious is life and this life turns against us if suppressed, as happens in neurosis. Conscious and unconscious do not make a whole when one of them is suppressed and injured by the other. If they must contend, at least let it be a fair fight with equal rights on both sides.

Both are aspects of life. Consciousness should defend its reason and protect itself, and the chaotic life of the unconscious should be given the chance of having its way too – as much of it as we can stand. This means open conflict and open collaboration at once. That, evidently, is the way human life should be. It is the old game of hammer and anvil: between them the patient iron is forged into an indestructible whole, an ‘individual.’ This, roughly, is what I mean by the individuation process.”

Cosmic Reset happening now

This weekend, several cosmic events combine to create a unique energy mix. These include the Equinox, the beginning of Libra Season, solar storms, and various planetary retrogrades.

The Equinox signifies a balance between day and night and encourages us to reflect on our lives, asking if we’re in sync with our true selves.

Libra Season brings a sense of harmony, emphasizing cooperation, reciprocation, and compromise in our interactions with others.

Solar storms, bursts of energy from the Sun, may intensify our emotions, disrupt our sleep, and lead to vivid dreams.

During solar storms, masses of radiant energy penetrate Earth’s atmosphere, and it is known to cause any of the following effects:

*Heightened awareness, enhanced intuition, and increased sensitivity.
*Having insights that appear suddenly and seemingly out of nowhere.
*Premonitions, intense dreams, or nightmares.
*Temporary memory loss, forgetfulness, or misplacing items.
*Seeing and feeling energy, such as orbs, sparks, or flashes of light, and sensing warmth in the palms of hands.
*Noticing synchronicities, such as certain number patterns reappearing.
*Being more consciously aware of other people’s energy fields and highly sensitive to negativity.
*Feeling a desire to spend time alone for introspection.
*Hearing certain sounds that others cannot hear, such as voices, music, buzzing, or banging.
*Disrupted sleep and waking up at the same time every night, usually between 2:00 to 4:00 a.m.
*Feeling disconnected from society’s norms while recognizing an unbreakable connection through energy.
*Knowing things without knowing how or why and trusting that inner knowing.
*Walking away from drama and conflict.
*No longer feeling the need to force anything, allowing what flows to flow freely and letting what doesn’t flow fall away.
*Having visions, premonitions, and the ability to predict future events or sensing great unrest, whether with a loved one or somewhere in the world, instantly.

Additionally, several planets are in retrograde, prompting us to reevaluate and make changes in our lives.

The upcoming weekend offers us a cosmic reset, an opportunity for personal growth, and the promise of blessings and opportunities as we step into the next season. It’s a time that will leave us feeling refreshed and in harmony with ourselves.
