Loneliness
It’s an embarrassing confession, but for a certain group among us, it’s fair to say that a great deal of our lives is spent asking essentially the same question, week after week, always with the same blend of frustration, despair and puzzlement: Why am I so lonely?
Why, in other words, do I so often find myself at odds in social groups, why can’t I more easily connect with people, why do I not have more friends worthy of the name?
Edward Matthew Ward, Byron’s Early Love, ‘A Dream of Annesley Hall’, c. 1856, Manchester Art Gallery
It’s tempting to jump to the darkest conclusion: because I am awful, because there is something wrong with me, because I deserve to be hated.
But the real answer is likely to be far less punitive and in its way far more logical: we, the isolated members of the tribe, are lonely for a very firm and forgivable reason: because we are interested in introspection, and they – the others — for all their intelligence and wit and strength of mind, are not.

Einstein s 1st wife’s major contribution
Albert Einstein’s first wife Mileva (Mitza) Marić was also a brilliant physicist. They met at the Polytechnic Institute of Zurich, where she had fought for special permissions to attend and where she received higher marks than Albert. Mitza put in as much if not more work on their theories but wasn’t credited because Albert told her their works wouldn’t get published with a woman’s name on them. Many of his lecture notes are in Mitza’s handwriting, and Albert was once heard at a party saying, “I need my wife, she helps solve all of my mathematical problems.” 80% of Einstein’s famous works were published during this marriage, referred to as his “magic years.” Those magic years ended abruptly after they divorced due to his infidelity and abandonment.
Happy Women’s History Month to the ✨real✨ genius of the Einstein family, Mileva Marić 🥰

Get physical: Therapy for depression and anxiety- Mad in America
A new study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine finds that physical activity (PA) can improve symptoms of depression, anxiety, and overall psychological distress.
According to the review of research, exercise is effective across a wide range of adult populations. It was most effective for people with depression, HIV, kidney disease, pregnant and postpartum women, and healthy individuals. More intense exercise was linked to more significant symptom improvement. However, the effectiveness of physical activity in treating symptoms of depression, anxiety, and distress diminished over time. The authors write:
“Physical activity is highly beneficial for improving symptoms of depression, anxiety, and distress across a wide range of adult populations, including the general population, people with diagnosed mental health disorders, and people with chronic disease. Physical activity should be a mainstay approach in the management of depression, anxiety, and psychological distress.”

Good or Healthy Narcissistic?
Anonymous comment: “There is such a thing as healthy narcissism, & actually, there are like 7 or 8 different types/branches of narcissism…so it doesn’t look the same for everyone.
My response: “A lot of the material saying there are so many types of narcissism is nothing more than sensationalized clickbait. There are only three types. Everything else falls under one of those three types.
And the idea of healthy narcissism isn’t a concept that everyone should believe in. It’s a concept, nothing more. And based largely on outdated psychoanalytic theories.”
I’m not saying you should believe everything I say, but after being in the field for over ten years, along with hours upon hours of research and case studies with targets/survivors of this insidious abuse, many of the mainstream ideologies around narcissism are straight up FALSE. Additionally, my staff writer is a licensed therapist, so the ideas I publish on my own site are vetted and accurate, according to the latest research – and I’m not talking about regular Google searches, which return very questionable sources of dubious merit.
I’ve made videos and written articles about these ideas. Here are a few links, if interested:

I realize that all the seemingly new concepts that folks are publishing and making videos about seem tantalizing, but this isn’t Hollywood. And while I don’t usually publish the candied yams version of narcissism, I will always try my best to give you the truth.
And remember, while it’s admirable for folks to get a Ph.D., it doesn’t always make them right. Everyone, even the highest-educated folks, is subject to their own biases, misconceptions, and wishful thinking.
