Meet me where I am at – Tara Shannon

There’s something you need to know

To understand

From someone who’s been there

And will be again…

In a place of overwhelming sadness

Of grief

Fear, worry

…and anxiety

Stuck

In this moment that can last a short time

Or go on for days

Or weeks

Months

Even years

In these moments

These times

This — this is where I’m at

All cylinders firing

Trying as best I can

Just to get by

Moment by moment

Day by day

And when I’m here

I’m not going to reach out

I’m just not

At least not yet

I’m not ready

I’m too busy

Too overwhelmed in the process of being and trying to find my way

To begin healing and searching out that speck of light in the dark that will hopefully begin guiding me out

So, no

I’m not going to reach out

But you

You… can reach in

And meet me where I’m at

Meet me with a gentle presence

With patience

No pressure

With empathy and care

And no expectations

Reach in

And don’t be upset when I don’t reach back

But

Do keep reaching in

Saying “hello”

“I’m thinking of you”

That’s enough

I know you’re there

And I love you for it

Even if I don’t say the words out loud

One day I will

When the weight of my world feels less heavy

After the sun has found its way in through the cracks

One day

You’ll reach in

And

I’ll reach back

Soul retrieval

You have traveled too fast over false ground;

Now your soul has come to take you back.

Take refuge in your senses, open up

To all the small miracles you rushed through.

Become inclined to watch the way of rain

When it falls slow and free.

Imitate the habit of twilight,

Taking time to open the well of color

That fostered the brightness of day.

Draw alongside the silence of stone

Until its calmness can claim you.

Be excessively gentle with yourself.

Ever lasting love ❤️

Love never truly fades. Even when someone is no longer part of your life, the love you felt for them remains within you. It transforms and becomes a part of your emotional landscape, but it doesn’t disappear. Learning to live without someone you once loved deeply is one of the hardest lessons, but over time, you find a way to carry on, holding that love in a different, quieter place within your heart.

Advice: It’s okay to still feel love for someone, even after they’re gone. Healing is about learning to live with that love, not erasing it.

Do not fall away now

It’s when the earth shakes

And foundations crumble

That our light is called

To rise up.

It’s when everything falls away

And shakes us to the core

And awakens all

Of our hidden ghosts

That we dig deeper to find

Once inaccessible strength.

It’s in times when division is fierce

That we must reach for each other

And hold each other much

Much tighter.

Do not fall away now.

This is the time to rise.

Your light is being summoned.

Your integrity is being tested

That it may stand more tall.

When everything collapses

We must find within us

That which is indomitable.

Rise, and find the strength in your heart.

Rise, and find the strength in each other

Burn through your devastation,

Make it your fuel.

Bring forth your light.

Now is not the time

To be afraid of the dark.

Those who try to

This is for everyone who tries.

Who tries to learn, tries to grow, tries to respond kindly and wisely, tries to recognize their own issues instead of blaming everyone else.

This is for everyone who tries to be their best even when they’re not feeling their best.

I see you. I appreciate you.

And I hope you know you make the world a better place, just by being you ..

Simplicity

Maybe the real happy ending is falling in love with the simplest parts of life.

It’s savoring that first sip of coffee in the morning, or losing yourself in the smell of freshly baked bread. It’s driving down familiar roads with the windows down, letting the air mess up your hair while your favorite song fills the car. It’s lingering on a quiet afternoon, reading the pages of a book you’ve put off for too long, letting each word wrap around you like an old friend. These moments — the ones that seem so ordinary — hold a kind of magic that fills the cracks we sometimes forget are there.

And maybe, just maybe, it’s finding a piece of joy in small things we often take for granted. Like the laughter that comes out of nowhere, shared with a stranger in a grocery store aisle. Or the comfort of a cozy night at home, wrapped up in a blanket, watching a show you’ve seen a hundred times but still brings a smile to your face.

It’s these little things that pull us back to life, that remind us of just how blessed we are, not because everything is perfect but because we find beauty in what we already have.

The gift of enough

The greatest gift anyone could give anyone is for the other to feel worthy, adored and more than enough for all that they are.

This is a gentle reminder that the people you surround yourself with in every direction should feel both uplifting and safe to your mind and heart.

Not confusing, not draining, not controlling, not vague, not calculating, not unreliable, not cold, not dismissive, and not manipulative.

Don’t mess around with the energy you take into your body and being, work wise, friendship wise, and relationship wise.

Life is too short and delicate for these damaging things.

It’s really that simple ..

Accountability

“I love accountability. I love when you’re honest. I love when you can come to me and free your mind, heart, and spirit. I’m a sucker for heart to hearts. I love being bonded by emotional intelligence—no pride, no ego, no secrets. I love raw connections.”

The beauty of accountability resonates deeply within me. There’s a profound admiration for honesty, for the courage to bare one’s soul and share the depths of one’s being. Heart-to-heart conversations hold a special place in my heart, forging bonds grounded in emotional intelligence and authenticity.

In these moments, pride and ego dissolve, giving way to raw, genuine connections.

I cherish the liberation that comes from open communication, where vulnerabilities are embraced, and secrets find solace in the light of understanding.

These raw connections, devoid of masks or pretense, are the threads that weave the tapestry of profound human relationships.
