The heart
~ THE HEART IS NOT A PUMP ~
Many of us live under the medical myth that the heart is a pump, an idea borne of an industrialised culture that views the body as a machine.
The heart however is so much more beautiful and fascinating than we ever could have imagined!
“Modern analysis of the heart has shown that in spite of the fact that the most powerful ventricle of the heart can shoot water six feet into the air, the amount of pressure actually needed to force the blood through the entire length of the body’s blood vessels would have to be able to lift a one hundred pound weight one mile high” – Stephen Buhner
So how does the blood move around the labyrinth-like vessels of our body?
It moves of its own accord.
You see, blood flow is not a simple stream like we once thought.
It is in fact composed of two streams, spiralling around each other much like the image of a DNA double helix, at the centre of which is a vacuum.
“Blood flow through living vessels is much more like a tornado than anything else: Such a vacuum is necessary for producing a vortex” – Stephen Buhner
How cool is that?
This spiral dance is not only found in the bloodstream, but also in the blood cell itself!
Blood cell’s in fact spin on their own individual axes of rotation. They are smaller spinning cells in a larger spinning vortex.
If your mind is not blown yet, let’s go back to the heart.
The heart itself has recently been discovered not to be a mass of muscle, but rather a ‘helicoidal myocardial band’ that has spiralled in upon itself, creating its unique shape and its separate chambers.
This is called the Helical Heart, and you can see doctors unravel it by searching ‘Helical Heart’ on Youtube.
Pair this with discoveries that the heart functions as an endocrine gland, has its own nervous system that makes and releases its own neurotransmitters, and emits an electromagnetic field that is far stronger than the brain’s, and we begin to move from the idea that the heart is simply a mechanical pump.
It is a spiralling organ of perception.
If that’s not beautiful, we don’t know what is!

Singing and Health
HOW SINGING AFFECTS OUR HEALTH
* Singing informs the body the “right” vibrations that increase our vitality;
* During singing, special chemicals are produced in the human brain that help us feel peace and joy;
* Singing improves blood circulation in the throat area, which has a beneficial effect on the vocal cords, plums and numerous lymph nodes in the throat and therefore significantly increases local immunity (in other words, we less often get colds);
* Improving the blood supply while singing leads to an increase in brain activity: it begins to work more intensively, memory improves, any information is easier to perceive;
* Singing is very beneficial for lung diseases, as it works as a breathing gymnastics, which promotes chest development, proper breathing, and significantly reduces the number of acute lung conditions;
* With regular singing, the levels of immunoglobulin and hydrocortizone, which are signs of good immunity, increase in the body;
* Methods have been developed that treat hiccups through singing and help improve diction;
*Singing is even used in the fight against obesity: sometimes it is available to overweight people when they feel hungry instead of eating, sing two or three songs.
Attention, girls! Singing improves blood supply to the head area and generally rejuvenates the body, skin condition improves.
This is why experts recommend singing at least 5 minutes a day, equating singing to physical exercise.

Salem Witch Trials
“This really got my attention, so I wanted to share it with anyone interested in history.
One of my friends told me about a powerful lesson in her daughter’s high school class recently. They’re learning about the Salem Witch Trials, and their teacher told them they were going to play a game.
“I’m going to come around and whisper to each of you whether you’re a witch or a regular person. Your goal is to build the largest group possible that does NOT have a witch in it. At the end, any group found to include a witch gets a failing grade.”
The teens dove into grilling each other. One fairly large group formed, but most of the students broke into small, exclusive groups, turning away anyone they thought gave off even a hint of guilt.
“Okay,” the teacher said. “You’ve got your groups. Time to find out which ones fail. All witches, please raise your hands.”
No one raised a hand.
The kids were confused and told the teacher he’d messed up the game. “Did I? Was anyone in Salem an actual witch? Or did everyone just believe what they’d been told?”
And that is how you teach kids how easy it is to divide a community.

Witch Facts/Truths
Annual reminder about where the ‘ugliness’ of witches comes from. That ugliness was the result of beatings and torture by animals. This is why I deplore the green face witch caricatures. 🥲
“Each year they parade her about, The traditional Halloween witch. Misshapen green face, stringy scraps of hair, A toothless mouth beneath her disfigured nose. Gnarled knobby fingers twisted into a claw protracting form. A bent and twisted torso that lurches about on wobbly legs.
Most think this is abject image to be the creation of a prejudiced mind or merely a Halloween caricature, I disagree, I believe this to be how witches were really seen.
Consider that most witches were women, were abducted in the night and smuggled into dungeons or prisons under secrecy of darkness and presented by the light of day as a confessed witch.
Few, if any saw a frightened normal looking woman being dragged into a secret room filled with instruments of torture, to be questioned until she confessed to anything that was suggested to her, and to give names or say whatever would stop the questions.
Crowds saw the aberration denounced to the world as a self-proclaimed witch. As the witch was paraded through the town, in route to be burned, hanged, drowned, stoned, or disposed of in various, horrible ways, all created to free and save her soul from her depraved body.
The jeering crowds viewed the result of hours of torture. The face, bruised and broken by countless blows, bore a hue of sickly green. The once warm and loving smile gone, replaced by a grimace of broken teeth, and torn gums that leer beneath a battered disfigured nose.
The disheveled hair conceals bleeding gaps of torn scalp from whence cruel hands had torn away the lovely tresses. Broken, twisted hands clutched the wagon for support. Fractured fingers locked like cropping claws to steady her broken body.
All semblance of humanity gone. This was truly a demon, a bride of Satan, a witch.
I revere this Halloween Witch and hold her sacred. I honor her courage and listen to her warnings of the dark side of humanity.
Each year I shed tears of respect.”

Highly Sensitive – The Power of Introverts in a World that cannot stop talking
The highly sensitive tend to be philosophical or spiritual in their orientation, rather than materialistic or hedonistic. They dislike small talk. They often describe themselves as creative or intuitive. They dream vividly, and can often recall their dreams the next day. They love music, nature, art, physical beauty. They feel exceptionally strong emotions–sometimes acute bouts of joy, but also sorrow, melancholy, and fear. Highly sensitive people also process information about their environments–both physical and emotional–unusually deeply. They tend to notice subtleties that others miss–another person’s shift in mood, say, or a lightbulb burning a touch too brightly. ~Susan Cain
