‘Brave New World’ – Revisited

Earnest Hemingway – Virtue – A farewell to Arms

The best people possess a feeling for beauty, the courage to take risks, the discipline to tell the truth, the capacity for sacrifice. Ironically, their virtues make them vulnerable; they are often wounded, sometimes destroyed. ~Ernest Hemingway

Looks – Judy Dench

In her own words;
Judi Dench
“Don’t prioritise your looks my friend, as they won’t last the journey.
Your sense of humor though, will only get better with age.
Your intuition will grow and expand like a majestic cloak of wisdom.
Your ability to choose your battles, will be fine-tuned to perfection.
Your capacity for stillness, for living in the moment, will blossom.
Your desire to live each and every moment will transcend all other wants.
Your instinct for knowing what (and who) is worth your time, will grow and flourish like ivy on a castle wall.
Don’t prioritise your looks my friend,
they will change forevermore, that pursuit is one of much sadness and disappointment.
Prioritise the uniqueness that make you you, and the invisible magnet that draws in other like-minded souls to dance in your orbit.
These are the things which will only get better..

Highly Sensitive

I’m 100%

The highly sensitive tend to be philosophical or spiritual in their orientation, rather than materialistic or hedonistic. They dislike small talk. They often describe themselves as creative or intuitive. They dream vividly, and can often recall their dreams the next day. They love music, nature, art, physical beauty. They feel exceptionally strong emotions–sometimes acute bouts of joy, but also sorrow, melancholy, and fear.
Highly sensitive people also process information about their environments–both physical and emotional–unusually deeply. They tend to notice subtleties that others miss–another person’s shift in mood, say, or a lightbulb burning a touch too brightly. ~Susan Cain

Hell – Charles Bukowski

They say that hell is crowded, yet
when you’re in hell
you always seem to be alone
& you can’t tell anyone when you’re in hell
or they’ll think you’re crazy
& being crazy is like being in hell
& being sane is hellish too.

those who escape hell , however
never talk about it
& nothing much bother them after that .
I mean, things like missing a meal ,
going to jail , wrecking a car ,
or even the idea of death itself.

when you ask them,
“how are things ?”
they”ll always answer,
“fine , just fine ….”

once you’ve been to hell and back
that’s enough
it’s the greatest satisfaction known to man.

once you’ve been to hell and back
you don’t look behind you when the floor creaks
and the sun is always up at midnight
and things like the eyes of mice
or an abandoned tyre in a vacant lot
can make you smile
once you’ve been to hell and back.

Charles Bukowski.
