Craig Childress PsyD – Flowing
I met with my intern today. I have an official intern, did you know that?
She’s an under-grad UW student. I hired her to help me organize some tasks. She then applied to UW to make my job an internship placement for course credit and I agreed.
I have an official intern. She’s learning about a clinical psychologist’s forensic practice. My-oh-my, just imagine. She’s learning some interesting things.
I have obligations now because she’s more than an employee being paid for a job, she’s getting course credit for learning educational things about a psychologist’s practice in the family courts – so – I’m providing educational opportunities for her to learn.
Oh my. Do you think that’s safe? She’ll be learning about what’s here… from me… I’m not sure that’s wise…. but I’m happy to do it.
I meet with my intern helper human every Friday for our staff/supervision meeting. She’s an under-grad student taking classes with tests, so she only has a few hours for me.
She has three domains of task to move forward:
1) Publication – assist with formatting and submitting an article I’ve written,
2) Catalogue – assist with publication of the Catalogue of Concerns through Kindle Direct,
3) YouTube: assist with reverse-writing articles and books from the audio-visual books of the YouTube videos I record.
The first time she completes each task serves as the prototype pathway for the next one – and next one – and next one. Each repetition is easier and easier.
She’s not doing tasks, she’s constructing the path to do the tasks, then… we can do the tasks.
For YouTube, my plan is to reverse-write articles and books. Most current thinking moves in one direction, whereas my thinking moves the other way.
I’m going to need a tech-assistant at some point – that’ll make three humans around me – my calendar – my intern – and my tech. I’m multiplying me.
Currently, your-type books are first printed as print-books and then are audio recorded as audio books. I’m going the other way.
I’m starting with the audio-visual book on YouTube, then I’ll be having my intern extract the transcript for editing and subsequent print publication in a print book format or as a journal article submission.
I’m sort of dictating books to YouTube to then edit the transcript. That’s my plan. So I hired a helper person to help with my plan while I do what I do.
She turned her work with me into course credit for her at her university – so – she’s learning about you now for course credit. I’m… explaining things that are here.
She’s comprehending things that are here. Oh my. My goal is to enlist her assistance in translating knowledge from my brain to print. I’m busy with other things.
It’s a super-sweet position for an under-grad, she’s a lucky human. She has a paid internship (that’s super-rare) where she has the opportunity to learn how to format and submit articles for publication – and – the opportunity for possible joint authorship on something as second (or first) author.
You can’t plagiarize me if I’m a joint author. She’ll be helping me with the Catalogue of Concerns. She’ll be helping me with my solo-article. There’s so many interesting facets of here.
Pick one. Any one that calls to you. Write a class paper and then submit it as an article. If you use mostly my words, then you’re second author and I’m first.
If it comes from an interest in you and it’s mostly your words, then your first and I’m second author. What a sweet opportunity for an under-grad senior.
Focus on school and tests and graduation… and a side project, an internship that will be excellent on applications. Such a wonderful opportunity.
I’m glad to help. I need something done. Universe, I need a helper-human…. “Here.”
Thanks.
We set some basic goals at today’s meeting for the upcoming fall. My broad goal is by the start of December to have an article ready for submission, and a print-ready Catalogue of Concerns.
We won’t get there, but we’ll be close if we’re not there quite then.
That’s called a “strange attractor” in a chaotic flow. I placed an attractor out ahead in time that will pull to an organization.
When we reach the attractor, we’ll reorganize and do it again to get closer, and closer, and closer to wherever we want to be. Once you learn to use attractors to organize flows in chaos, movement though chaos becomes relatively easy.
Organize the attractor, the plan, the goal, then throw it out ahead. You don’t know the skills yet of constructing attractors, your goals don’t attract and your plans don’t work – because your attractors are not properly constructed.
It’s a skill. More of a craft. Creating a good strange attractor and locating it out ahead in time is a craft of skill. I’ll teach you someday if we have the time.
Things are coming. Things are changing. We are on a linear path. Today is not like yesterday, and tomorrow will be different than today. That’s what change means – different.
I wait in pause for the universal waveform to collapse into spin-Harris or spin-Trump, do we ascend or descend? Once I know the directional flow, I’ll adjust to the flowing.
