Dylan

“You got a lot of nerve

To say you are my friend

When I was down

You just stood there grinning

You got a lot of nerve

To say you got a helping hand to lend

You just want to be on

The side that’s winning

You say I let you down

You know it’s not like that

If you’re so hurt

Why then don’t you show it?

You say you lost your faith

But that’s not where it’s at

You had no faith to lose

And you know it

I know the reason

That you talk behind my back

I used to be among the crowd

You’re in with

Do you take me for such a fool

To think I’d make contact

With the one who tries to hide

What it don’t know to begin with

You see me on the street

You always act surprised

You say ‘How are you? Good luck!’

But you don’t mean it

When you know as well as me

You’d rather see me paralyzed

Why don’t you just come out once

And scream it

No, I do not feel that good

When I see the heartbreaks you embrace

If I was a master thief

Perhaps I’d rob them

And now I know you’re dissatisfied

With your position and your place

Don’t you understand

It’s not my problem

I wish that for just one time

You could stand inside my shoes

And just for that one moment

I could be you

Yes, I wish that for just one time

You could stand inside my shoes

You’d know what a drag it is

To see you.”

Broken – Clarissa Pinkola Estes

“There is a time in our lives, usually in mid-life, when a woman has to make a decision – possibly the most important psychic decision of her future life – and that is, whether to be bitter or not. Women often come to this in their late thirties or early forties. They are at the point where they are full up to their ears with everything and they’ve “had it” and “the last straw has broken the camel’s back” and they’re “pissed off and pooped out.” Their dreams of their twenties may be lying in a crumple. There may be broken hearts, broken marriages, broken promises.”

Remembrance a day poem by a 14 year old boy – Powerful

Powerful.. Joshua Dyer (aged 14) was tasked at school to write a poem for Remembrance Day. An hour later (without any help) he produced this..

ONE THOUSAND MEN ARE WALKING

One thousand men are walking

Walking side by side

Singing songs from home

The spirit as their guide

They walk toward the light milord,

they walk towards the sun

they smoke and laugh and smile together

no foes to outrun.

These men live on forever

in the hearts of those they saved

a nation truly grateful

for the path of peace they paved.

They march as friends and comrades

but they do not march for war

step closer to salvation

a tranquil steady corps

the meadows lit with golden beams

a beacon for the brave

the emerald grass untrampled

a reward for what they gave.

They dream of those they left behind

and know they dream of them

forever in those poppy fields

there walks one thousand men

Peace – poem

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,

and remember what peace

there may be in silence.

As far as possible without surrender

be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly

and clearly;

and listen to others,

even the dull and the ignorant;

they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,

they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself

with others,

you may become vain and bitter;

for always there will be greater

and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well

as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;

it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs;

for the world is full of trickery

But let this not blind you to what

virtue there is;

many persons strive for high ideals;

and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.

Especially, do not feign affection.

Neither be cynical about love;

for in the face of all aridity

and disenchantment

it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,

gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.

But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.

Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,

be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,

whatever you conceive Him to be,

and whatever your labors and aspirations,

in the noisy confusion of life

keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery,

and broken dreams,

it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful.

Strive to be happy. ~Max Ehrmann

Trudi Jane – Story of Love

I’ve lived through pain
I thought I never would
Thought I never could
And then this arrived
A loss greater than any other
And I wonder how I recover
The stars blink, though they don’t say
The sun shines and gives nothing away
This loss made every other seem so very small
Showing how even the tallest story can easily fall
But you, my darling, were always the promise of light
A gift that made so many days here so bright
And even here, left in the darkness, I can see
How your love lives on endlessly
When I smile and think of you
To touch love again is all I can do
And if I must live here without you
I’ll hold on by remembering all the love we knew
Some memories are the things that keep us alive
Others are the ones we will live to barely survive
And somehow, in you, I have found both together
Another story about love I will hold onto forever

This lovely young woman came to my home , 2015 – Edessa’s poem .

Heart sinks

Tea steeps

Herbs release

Ancient hues

Morning dew

Song birds sing anew

Day brings a rush of divine clues

Symbols leading the way

Unfurling this brighter day

Steam rolling off the misty mountains

Castles in the sky celestial fountains

My spirit soars high

Timeslines collide

God orchestrating this play

Driving forces never astray

The eagle watch’s from above

The medicine woman pours her love

She stares into the eyes of infinity

Twinkle eclipse moonlight eyes

She holds herself as her soul begins to cry

The weeping of all the women in her mother line

She calls the Eagle for clear vision, rise above it all

The messenger delivers her call

Tears cleansing her lineage

Winds redirecting her Spirit

Flame of faith ignite within

Feet firmly planted on her mother

Activated strength and courage

Evolution has its rites of passage

Do not live a half life

Do not live half a life

and do not die a half death

If you choose silence, then be silent

When you speak, do so until you are finished

If you accept, then express it bluntly

Do not mask it

If you refuse then be clear about it

for an ambiguous refusal is but a weak acceptance

Do not accept half a solution

Do not believe half truths

Do not dream half a dream

Do not fantasize about half hopes

Half the way will get you no where

You are a whole that exists to live a life

not half a life. ~Khalil Gibran

Life

I have been her
I have been she
I have been them
And now I’m me.

I have been out
And I’ve been in
I’ve felt defeat
I’ve known the win.

I have held joy
and shouldered grief
I’ve had my share
Of changed beliefs.

I have been hurt
and I’ve been high
I heard the answers
to what and to why.

I know the loss
and I know the gain
I know that we
all bleed the same.

I have been her
I have been she
I have been them
And now I’m me.
