Chiron

The US is in its peak Chiron return period, which usually lasts about 1.5 years.

While this is specific to the US, because it is considered to be a world superpower, this energetic IS rippling out globally.

Chiron was discovered only about 50 years ago, so our journey with him is relatively new, and we have yet to evolve his archetypal wisdom from the wounded healer to his higher expression.

When Chiron returns his original placement the natal chart, it is a powerful moment that offers the possibility of rebirth, awakening and alchemical liberation through a journey with our primal wound.

While Chiron was considered to be the wounded healer, it was only because he received a wound that he couldn’t heal.

However, this is not the whole picture of his story and we’ve gotten a little stuck there…both in his story, and in our relationship to healing.

Chiron was a famous, brilliant scholar, mentor, astrologer, diviner and philosopher who trained all of the great Greeks, including Asclepius, the Greek God of medicine.

He had healing temples where people came to receive healing dreams from drinking various teas, including Rhodiola root tea.

People were guided to create something from this healing dream because it was believed that the creative process is what alchemized the wound or issue into beauty, medicine and goodness.

When Chiron received this wound to his animal body (human) that he couldn’t heal, he sacrificed his immortality and ultimately became immortalized as Sagittarius.

He became the Holy Outsider.

The one whose wounds have become sacred, touched by the Divine, and, thus rendered whole and complete.

In the natal chart, Chiron represents the way we personally experience this wound that cannot be healed in our own lives.

He also represents the ancestral inheritance we came into this life to liberate for our lineage.

His placement marks the beginning of our unique, alchemical journey towards the weaving of the magic and medicine we are meant to share with the world.

He shows us our personal spiritual path of Soul embodiment.

When a whole nation experiences a Chiron return, the nation finds itself deep in the throws of its own core wound.

With Chiron in Aries, this is the wound of self, identity and also, deeper still, the Father wound.

So, an identity crisis.

Resolving this kind of wound, the path of healing masculine consciousness, comes about through alchemizing this energy into creations that bring healing within us and into the world.

This is how Chiron works, evolution through alchemizing pain into true essence.

The collective Chiron is transiting through Aries, so there is a collective inflammation of the Father wound….the founding fathers, the patriarchy….

The ways that colonization has destroyed our relationship with our roots, identity and each other.

The US has its Chiron square its Sun, which is in Cancer, while he himself sits in the fourth house, ruled by Cancer.

The subjugation of the Mother by the wounded Father.

Perhaps most deeply expressed in how it perpetuates social polarization, dehumanization and aggression, extraction of the feminine and oppression of the other.

Root loss and disrespect of the land and all its citizens.

This is what is coming forward to be alchemized into a rooted, balanced and just way of being, so as to shine a different light into the world.

Within us, and in the global collective.

We are about to see this played out theatrically on the world stage and we won’t be able to ignore it or hide behind our identities anymore.

The US Chiron is square Pluto, which is now in Aquarius.

Here is an incredibly powerful invitation to retrieve power from the Father wound and re-root ourselves mind, body and soul.

Aquarius is self-mastery.

Individuating into our authentic essence in service of the whole.

Integrating inner Father, Mother and Divine Child.

Authentic individuality is different than a culture of individualism and Pluto in Aquarius knows this.

To individuate and become who we truly are takes us through our own alchemical Chiron journey were we must weave the medicine that will alchemize our hearts and bring healing to the heart of the world.

This is perhaps one of the most important things we can do right now.

Gain a deeper understanding of our alchemical path and medicine, so we can stop trying to perpetually heal ourselves and allow our individuation to heal us.

And, from this place, weave the magic that will save us all.

It can also take the edge off of a somewhat collective Chiron return energy many of us are feeling right. now.

Let us go gently into the good night and find the light that will guide us in this darkening.
