Real love – Dad style

He doesn’t have to, but he does.

She is responsible for her vehicle care. She knows to check the oil, and make sure tires are inflated. She fuels up when needed and reports any “quirks and sounds” as they come in a school car that has a decade on her age.

But what I love lost about him?

He loves her through his service.

To do what he doesn’t have to.

And in the frigid cold mornings, he goes out to warm her car. Not because she is sleeping in or too busy.

But because he loves her and he cares.

She may not know it yet, but she is wrapped up in that love every time she leaves the drive.

Love is never in the big moments, but in the quiet and gentle and subtle.

We have prayed for her future mate, ever since she was born. And while he doesn’t have to be “just like dad” it is our hope that she will at least be able to recognize real love when it finds her.

*For those who didn’t know this love as a child, I am sorry. Not every story reads this way, but I know we can all agree when we say the world needs dads. And we should encourage every single one of them! ❤️

I have joined with many parents affected with the surreal , yet accepted issue of child abuse via Pathogenic Parenting / Domestic abuse. As a survivor of Domestic Abuse, denial abounded that 3 sons were not affected. In my desire to be family to those who have found me lacking . I will talk to small circles and I will council ; as targeted parents , grandparents , aunts , uncles etc. , are denied contact with a child for reasons that serve the abuser ...further abusing the child. I grasp the trauma and I have looked at the lost connection to a higher power.. I grasp when one is accustomed to privilege, equality can feel like discrimination.. Shame and affluence silences a lot of facts , truths that have been labeled "negative". It is about liberation of the soul from projections of a alienator , and abuser ..
