In the UK we have just gone into lockdown due to the CoronaVirus. This means there will be heavy enforced restrictions on travel, forcing everyone to stay home. It’s an interesting time for sure, and one of great uncertainty!

I feel there is a deeper spiritual significance to all that is happening, and while this is just my perspective I feel that this has the potential to bring great positive change to the planet.

The Earth has become rife with war, greed and heavy consumption. The environment has suffered immensely and human beings have become disconnected to that which gives us life force. The most sacred things have been sold to the highest bidder. The food has become modified and commodified, and the land has been burnt, cut and molded to suit consumption. We have lost connection with our sexuality, sensuality and pure enjoyment. There are huge amounts of people in small areas of land, yet people are feeling more and more isolated.

Collectively we have created the false illusion that we are all in some way separate for each other and the land that has so patiently held us!

Where has the love and connection gone?

We have been gifted this time now! A chance for people to go inward, find a connection to the higher self and learn to love without conditions. We now have a window of time to pick up an instrument, read a book, start a yoga practice, write poems and truly connect to that which brings us joy.

I know these moments are uncertain and may feel scary, but now is your chance to do what your heart has been asking you to do your entire life.

Slowing Down

…During uncertain times – where the personal, cultural, and collective status quo is shaken – listening and attuning to the manifestations of the unconscious can be an important way to stay connected with ourselves, with the soul, and with what matters most deeply to us.

Of course, many of us will be spending a lot of time and energy taking care of ourselves and our families, ensuring the safety of those around us, staying up to date on reports from organizations and agencies we trust, and following guidelines designed to protect as many of us as possible. It is both wise and kind to engage in all of this with a sharp, creative mind and open, flexible heart.

But in those moments when we find ourselves alone, social-distancing, and unable to distract ourselves in our ordinary ways, we may find ourselves in a unique situation to listen. Finally. To slow down. And listen to what it is the soul has been whispering to us.

The soul is always reaching out to us, by way of our dreams and fantasy-images, unexpected sensations in the body, irrational moods, and unexplainable “symptoms” of all kinds.

But usually we are too busy to listen, to feel, to sense, to enter into partnership with the voices, figures, and the lifeforce that is attempting to reach us.

For therapists (and everyone), you might pay careful attention to the counter-transference in these times, what emerges in your body and within the interactional field as you listen and attune to another, as they share their fears, fantasies, dreams, and images with you. For it is often through the body that the unconscious is able to find us.

I will not paint some Pollyannaish fantasy that there is always opportunity in times of uncertainty, fear, and challenge, for I do not believe it is that simple. For many, this situation will not be experienced as opportunity, but as tragedy. These ones could of course be me. And for these ones I pray.

For others, there is a unique invitation in times of isolation, where the rug is pulled away and the distractions are no longer there. Where the voices, images, and dreams have found a way in. The soul is not in us, but we are in the soul. And it is speaking.

It will take you less than a minute to read this. If you agree, please pass it on. It’s an idea whose time has come to deal with this self-serving situation:

OUR PRESENT SITUATION !

Children of Congress members do not have to pay back their college student loans.

Staffers of Congress family members are also exempt from having to pay back student loans.

Members of Congress can retire at full pay after only one term.

Members of Congress have exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed, under which ordinary citizens must live.
For example, they are exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment.

And as the latest example, they have exempted themselves from Healthcare Reform, in all of its aspects.

We must not tolerate an elite class of such people, elected as public servants and then putting themselves above the law.

I truly don’t care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent, or whatever. The self-serving must stop.

Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon their states.It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.

If each person that receives this will forward it on to 20 people, in three days most people in The United States of America will have the message.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:

“Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the Citizens of the United States …”

This is an idea that should be passed around, regardless of political party.

Congressional Reform Act of 2017

  1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they’re out of office. And, no more perks go with them.
  2. Congress (past, present, & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.
  3. Congress must purchase their own retirement plan, just as ALL Americans do.
  4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
  5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
  6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people (i.e. NO MORE INSIDER TRADING!!!).
  7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congress made all these contracts by and for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor and privledge NOT a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators should serve their term(s), then go home and go back to work … not get all kinds of freebies.

Schools by and large have been broken

For a very long time and homeschooling a challenge but necessary . That’s changing with the early end of schools , we finally have the time out to check ourselves and teach kids what they need to know , not what we want them to know via a board vested in favoring for profit , regardless of authenticity or leaving out whole truths .

So I find all is in perfect order , as the “spin” cycle of life slows down , we grasp what’s not advantageous in our lives . Moreover , we become grateful and compassionate , and collective .

The pause is required to understand the lacks , pay wages that support the art of teaching . Education that is nature and nurture that begins at inception , and each child is worthy of body , mind and spirit wellness.
