Run from what’s comfortable

“Run from what’s comfortable. Forget safety.

Live where you fear to live. Destroy your reputation. Be notorious. I have tried prudent planning long enough. From now on I’ll be mad.” ~ Rumi

Rumi’s quote explodes with a rebellious spirit, urging us to embrace a life beyond comfort and convention. It’s a call to shed the skin of “what’s comfortable” and dive into the exhilarating, if terrifying, depths of authenticity. Let’s unpack this powerful sentiment:

1. Beyond Comfort: Rumi challenges the allure of complacency. He argues that true growth lies not in the predictable embrace of “safety,” but in venturing into the unknown, where fear becomes a compass guiding us towards our most vibrant selves.

2. Live Where You Fear: This isn’t about reckless abandon, but about confronting our deepest anxieties and embracing them as doorways to self-discovery. By living where we fear, we tap into a hidden wellspring of courage and unleash a life fueled by passion, not trepidation.

3. Destroy the Reputation: Our reputations are often shackles that bind us to societal expectations. Rumi urges us to shatter them, not out of malice, but to break free from inauthenticity and forge identities true to our inner core.

4. Be Notorious: This isn’t a call for infamy, but for living authentically, even if it means challenging norms and defying expectations. The notoriety Rumi suggests comes from radiating the unique light within, even if it sparks discomfort in others.

5. Madness as Metaphor: “Madness” here symbolizes a break from the conventional, a willingness to embrace the unconventional, the passionate, and the true self, even if it appears unorthodox to others.

Remember, Rumi’s quote isn’t a recipe for everyone. It’s a potent reminder that sometimes, the most fulfilling life lies beyond the well-worn paths, in the wild embrace of authenticity. So, while respecting boundaries and ethical considerations, consider Rumi’s words as a spark to ignite your own journey of self-discovery, a journey that might lead you to shed comfort, embrace fear, and discover the vibrant, unrestrained life that awaits beyond the confines of the ordinary. ~ Seer & Sage

I have joined with many parents affected with the surreal , yet accepted issue of child abuse via Pathogenic Parenting / Domestic abuse. As a survivor of Domestic Abuse, denial abounded that 3 sons were not affected. In my desire to be family to those who have found me lacking . As a survivor of psychiatric abuse, therapist who abused also and toxic prescribed medications took me to hell on earth with few moments of heaven. I will share my life, my experiences and my studies and research.. I will talk to small circles and I will council ; as targeted parents , grandparents , aunts , uncles etc. , are denied contact with a child for reasons that serve the abuser ...further abusing the child. I grasp the trauma and I have looked at the lost connection to a higher power.. I grasp when one is accustomed to privilege, equality can feel like discrimination.. Shame and affluence silences a lot of facts , truths that have been labeled "negative". It is about liberation of the soul from projections of a alienator , and abuser ..
